Population Map

Highlights mesh faces and allows selecting sperate faces for population pattern of various components using the Ctrl+click.

Various colors represent various components.

Steps

1. Select a blank colored cell from the components pallet.

2. Load a component from the mesh status toolbar or press the load button from the components settings console.

3. To load another component select another colored cell and press the load button from the component settings console.

4. Press the Select Face button from the Face Map toolbar and use the Ctrl+click to select faces or use the Assign by rule method (optional).

Options

Assign by Face - Allows selecting specific mesh faces for various components

In this example Red color = X mesh High Res. component, Yellow color = sphere component.

These components are located in the GEM installation folder: ParaCloud GEM / Example Files / Components

Red Color = X mesh high Res. Yellow color = Sphere component

Assign by Rule - Selects faces according to one of the following rules: Targets, Height or Random.

Select All - Selects all mesh faces

Clear All - Clears all the selected faces

Using Face Map for subdivision - Face map can be used a method for subdividing specific face

Toggle the Use Face Map option from the Face selection toolbar. Select faces for subdividing. From the Mesh Tools console select subdivision offset.

Click 'yes' to maintain face orientation.

Click 'No' to pivot about Face Center.

Note : Subdivision operation cancels existing offset.

Rotate Faces - Rotates Face Direction. Press the Rotate Faces button from the Mesh Settings console.

Note: First, press the Use face map button to toggle the option both in the Mesh Tools console and in the component Setting console. Toggling the Use Face Map option allows subdividing or populating the selected faces only.
